Active Rehabilitation Therapy Programs
The body is one functional unit. When one part isn’t working properly, the rest of the body suffers. Corrective exercise focuses on the connectivity between muscles and then finding and restoring imbalances caused by daily use, poor posture, injury, and repetitive motion.
For example, if you regularly wear high heels or sit at a desk, if you’ve got a nagging injury that just never gets better, or if you suffer from recurring headaches, corrective exercise is important for long-term healing. Our bodies often choose the path of least resistance when functioning, though this isn’t what our muscles and joints need.
Our philosophy at Kernetics Wellness center is to implement corrective exercise to address your back, neck, hip, knee, and shoulder concerns. Dr, Yates will first evaluate your issue, and then develop a treatment plan customized to your needs that includes various stretching and strengthening exercises for your body. We will also provide you with tips and stretches to continue your recovery at home, to prevent re-injury from occurring in the future.
Corrective exercise works to correct improper muscle movements, which often means a reduction in the pain the movement may be causing. It can restore range of motion, improve athletic ability, and even help prevent future injury.
At Kernetics Wellness Center, we will work with you to retrain your body’s movements in the correct way, strengthen the appropriate muscles, and educate you about ways to prevent injury. Our goal is for you to be able to enjoy an active, pain-free life, free of dysfunctional movements and full of enjoyment and good health.
